The Public Relations class at Notre Dame University-Shouf Campus (NDU-SC) organized a public lecture on Volunteering for the Lebanese Red Cross delivered by Ms. Rosy Boulos, Head of the First Aid Department at the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) on May 17, 2016.

The conversation started with the Public Relations students who had prepared a number of interview questions to inquire about Ms. Boulos’ education, career path, accomplishments and aspirations.

Ms. Boulos, first, expressed her hope in the upcoming generation and their willingness to dedicate time and energy to help others. She mentioned that it was the need to help during the Lebanese war that had inspired her to join the Red Cross. And she has been an active member ever since. Ms. Boulos cited the many rewards and challenges that come from working with the Red Cross.

She spoke of the inner satisfaction that young men and women receive from volunteering in the LRC. Ms. Boulos also spoke of the highly rewarding life experience gained from close human interaction at vulnerable times.

Being active in public and social events and associations like Beirut Marathon, the Public Library and the Children’s Center in Krafaka, Ms.Boulos encouraged the young students to make a positive change in their communities.
